Creating your RaY profile

RaY allows you to create a profile page, like the one above, which displays your publications and lets you add a photo, biographical details, qualifications and research interests.

Setting up a profile is easy. When you log into RaY, you are taken into your Homepage. Use the Edit Profile button to create your profile and the Profile Picture button to add a photo. Ensure you make your profile publicly visible so it can be seen by the wider world:
It is also possible to embed a summary of your user profile in a webpage using the code which you can find in the   button on your Homepage. It also explains how you can customise what you personally see on your Homepage, such as how many times your items have been downloaded.

You can search for profiles from the RaY menu: Browse profiles by York St John author or by expertise here: Browse profiles by expertise

If you have any questions about creating a profile please email RaY

British Library extend reading room services

The Boston Spa Reading Room at the British Library have recently changed their policy so that visitors can order items from the St Pancras Reading Room in London as well as from Document Supply collections. This means that it is possible to view at Boston Spa some items not available on inter-library loan. You do need to pre-order 48 hours in advance (as well as preregistering for a reader pass), but about 85% of the London stock will be available to read in this way.

If you would like more information about this, our interlibrary loans team are happy to help. Their webpage has details of the reading room scheme, as well as contact details.

New journal subscriptions!

We revise our journal subscriptions, based on usage and upcoming revisions to the University's portfolio, on an annual basis.  If you are interested in what is new in your area, your Academic Liaison Librarian would be very happy to talk about it with you. In the meantime, here is a flavour of what we have added to the collections this year.
